Difficult conversations are unavoidable in management, teams and relationships. In fact, any time you’re dealing with other people, issues will inevitably come up. Unfortunately, many of us tend to procrastinate and avoid having these conversations. But unless you raise the issue, the other party may not know this is a problem (in psychology this is called implied approval). And unless you’re able to discuss and come to a resolution, you can’t move on and will carry residual negative feelings towards the other person. When I was a clinician, I discovered that couples don’t have a lot of arguments, they have the same arguments a lot of times (because they were never resolved).
So how do you prepare for these discussions? What should you say? What should you not say? This session will show you how to plan your approach, find the right mindset, listen, empathise and understand the other person, but most importantly how get your point across in a respectful way that motivates the other party towards a mutually beneficial outcome. This session will help you to address underperformance, deal with staff conflict and confidently navigate difficult situations.
Accounting firms are talking with clients more now than ever due to the Coronavirus implications. While having more conversations with clients is what you ultimately want, so you can build your relationship with the client, and potentially fill some of their needs with services you offer - yet how do you do that? How do you have these conversations which are outside of your comfort zone or different to tax structures, minimising tax legally and ensuring their technology is compliant and easier for them/you to use and access?
Trent will share some critical tips, processes and methods to help you approach these conversations from a place that not only builds YOUR confidence, yet also the confidence of your clients in you to help them navigate these tricky times.
Always wondered what mindfulness was, what it involved, how to do it, why mindfulness practitioners tend to live longer and how it could help you in a practical way on a daily basis?

Attendees will also receive access to ‘The Mindful Accountant’ eBook.
